Christopher CHAMBERS Obituary – Manchester, CT

CHAMBERS, Christopher R. Christopher R. Chambers, 94, of Manchester, passed away Monday (Aug. 27, 2012) in Manchester. Chris was born in Manchester on October 7, 1917 to Robert and Rebecca (Hewitt) Chambers and lived there all his life. He was a veteran of World War II as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was wounded while serving his country. He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company in the 1950s and then worked at several companies in the Hartford area. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #73, a Shriner, and a former Commodore of the Hartford Yacht Club. He is survived by a brother, Robert W. Chambers, Jr. and his wife Marianne from Manchester; two nieces, Linda Farley and her husband James, and Karen Lombardi and her husband William, two nephews, William Chambers and his wife Marcia, and Mark Sawina; six great-nephews and great-nephews. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, August 31, at 10 a.m. at the Hillstown Road Veterans Cemetery, 180 Hillstown Road in Manchester. There are no calling hours.
