Elizabeth Brunner obituary – Reading, PA

Elizabeth E. “Lizzie” Brunner, 82, of Wernersville, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Norman P. Brunner, to whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage on January 2. Lizzie, a daughter of the late Ralph C. and Emily E. (Quillman) Gilbert, was born in Reading. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jeffrey N. Brunner, husband of Sandra; Sharon E., wife of Robert Henning; a brother, Thomas Gilbert; a sister, Dolores Lape; three grandchildren, Lauren E., wife of Harrison Hartman, Stephanie K., wife of Andrew Mueller, and Ryan J. Brunner, husband of Alexandra; three great-grandchildren, Noah Hartman, River Hartman and Henry Mueller; grandchildren in three steps, Jennifer, wife of Christopher Lechleitner, Robert J. Henning, husband of Heather, and Kristen, wife of J. Matthew Hook; and great-grandchildren in nine steps, Trentin Lechleitner, Avonlea Lechleitner, Robert Henning, Brayden Henning, Anderson Henning, Paisley Hook, Ellie Hook, Nolan Hook and Bennett Hook. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Moyer. She was a member of the United Church of Christ of Robesonia, formerly of St. Paul’s UCC, where she was very active. Lizzie graduated from Conrad Weiser High School in 1959. Lizzie retired from Hair on the Avenue and had previously worked as a secretary to the District Magistrate in Robesonia. She was a former Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Conrad Weiser Chapter #449 and enjoyed spending time with her family, the beach, reading a good book, attending concerts and playing family games. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, at 11:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ of Robesonia, 301 W. Penn Ave., Robesonia. A visitation with the family will be held Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place in Heidelberg Cemetery. Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W.
