Fever vs Sky live updates, time, TV for Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese

For the second time this month, Caitlin Clark will face Angel Reese as the Indiana Fever host the Chicago Sky Sunday in Indianapolis.

The teams met for the first time on June 1, with the Fever leading 71-70 for their first home win of the season. They meet again next Sunday when the Sky host the Fever on June 23 and in Chicago on August 30, when the teams face off for the fourth and final time in the regular season.

The Indiana Fever are 3-of-4 from deep after the first quarter, with Clark, Katie Lou Samuelson and Lexie Hull on 3s. But eight offensive rebounds for Chicago helped the Sky take a 26-23 lead at the end of the first period.

Chicago’s Chennedy Carter, who started today instead of coming off the bench, leads all scorers with eight points. Clark is next with seven points. She also has two assists and two rebounds.

The craziest statistic, however, is: Chicago’s Kamilla Cardoso already has seven rebounds. Seven! And we’ve only played 10 minutes.

Caitlin Clark has already scored as many points in less than five minutes as in all previous matches. Not bad.

Clark is 3-for-3 with seven points and the Fever have an early 13-8 lead over Chicago with 5:49 to play in the first quarter. Clark is known for her logo 3s, but she has found a lot of success in the WNBA when she drives to the rim early in games and gets some easier looks to get into a rhythm. That’s exactly what’s happening today. She opened with a nice drive, then hit a 3 (assist from Aliyah Boston for a nice screen) and then scored on another drive.

Angel Reese already has two points and two rebounds.

The Fever scored their second win of the 2024 WNBA season and their first home victory on June 1 when they defeated the Sky 71-70 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. And things got tricky.

With 15.1 seconds left in the third quarter when the Fever led 53-49, Chicago’s Chennedy Carter blindsided Clark and shoulder-checked her from behind as Aliyah Boston tried to inbound the ball to Clark. Only a general, out-of-law foul was committed against Carter at the time, which caused disbelief among the Fever and the TV networks and caused major controversy on social media. Reese had a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, but her Chicago Sky fell to the last-place Washington Mystics 83-81. The seventh overall pick struggled from the field (3-for-10), but hit all four of her free throws. She added two assists and a steal.

Caitlin Clark finished with as many points (7) as turnovers (7) in the Indiana Fever’s 91-84 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Thursday. She shot just 3-for-11 from the field, including 1-for-6 on 3-pointers, and had four rebounds and six assists. One of those turnovers came at a crucial time. The Fever led 85-82 with less than a minute left in the game when Clark threw a pass behind teammate Kelsey Mitchell, resulting in a steal from the Dream’s Cheyenne Parker-Tyus… who threw an errant pass and it immediately turned back over to Mitchell, who extended the Fever’s lead to 87-82 with 47 seconds left.
