Popular Springfield restaurant is closing after 31 years

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WSMV) – A popular Robertson County restaurant announced Saturday it will close in August.

The Catfish House, located on Tom Austin Highway in Springfield, has been in Springfield for 31 years. The company announced it would close the Springfield location on August 4.

“While we are excited about what comes next, the truth is that it is difficult to say goodbye to the people we have met here and in this place,” the company said in a letter on social media. “When you’re there that long, you become part of people’s stories – a weekly tradition, a place to celebrate, a first job. Some of us have spent half our lives here.

“It has been an incredible journey that we will miss dearly, and we owe it all to your loyalty and support over the decades.”

The original Catfish House in Clarksville remains open.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of our journey. We will never forget it,” the restaurant said.
