Obituary of Robert Montrose White – Concord, CA (1933-2024)

Robert Montrose White, Sr., 90, of Concord, CA, sadly passed away on May 28, 2024. He was born on August 25, 1933 in Des Moines, IA, the son of the late Albert and Minerva White. He also joins his wife, Frances Marie White, who preceded him in death. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He and his wife moved from Missouri to California in 1960. He was a high school teacher in the Acalanes Union High School District for more than 30 years. He taught primarily at Campolindo High School, including American History, Driver’s Education, and also coached basketball and golf. He and his fellow teacher and close friend, George Hunrick, also co-led European tours for high school students during the summer for many years. He was an avid golfer and reader. He continued to work at Boundary Oak twice a week as a marshal on the track until mid-March of this year. He leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Ann LaBeau (Boyd) of Oakville, MO; three children: Lori Anne Lopez of Concord, CA; Robert Montrose White, Jr. (Charlene) of Stockton, CA; and Marcelle Marie Ferguson of Sierra Madre, CA; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins ​​and friends. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on June 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church Concord (Sanctuary) at 1965 Colfax St., Concord, CA, 94520. Dinner immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.
