Therapist stopped Draymond Green from exploding on Warriors locker room members to avoid NBA fines

For Draymond, the 2023-24 season was an unfortunate year in his career. It may only be a shame for Draymond Green, but his actions were rightly addressed from the end of the competition. Dray received the most technicals of his career this season, seventeen, and was also suspended for the same number of games. In December, Green hit Jusuf Nurkic in the head, for which he was suspended for 12 games. It wasn’t his first time, as last year he had to sit out a crucial game in the playoffs against the Kings when he stepped on Sabonis’ chest.

Given his history, the league forced him to undergo mandatory counseling. No one would expect Green to attend such meetings. Ultimately, however, Dray was able to control himself quite well. The therapist, on the other hand, might have saved some of his teammates and assistant coaches from verbal abuse. Green hardly agrees with a wrong decision and that is one of the main reasons why the referees do not like him.

“I’m like, ‘Hey, I keep getting suspended. I really need to get a handle on this.’ And he says, okay, great… He says, ‘What’s your plan?’. And I’m like, ‘Well, I’m just not going to talk to referees at all’… I’m like, ‘Well, maybe I can find someone on our sideline and then move on if I need to, just get my words out.’. It’s like, ‘Yes, the camera will focus on you and the whole world will think you’re going crazy.’Green said on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Despite finding a less problematic solution to his feuding problems, it wouldn’t have gone down too well with his teammates. Regardless, in the second half of the season, Green did a great job of controlling himself on the field. However, the Warriors did not last long and missed the playoffs for the second time in the past four years. On the other end, Green’s frustration blurted out.

Draymond Green isn’t impressed with anything on the field

We all know Dray’s arguments with the referees and players, and even arguments with teammates. The list goes on. But one of the things that stands out is his confidence in himself. Whatever the consequences, Green would not back down from a fight or any kind of altercation. As a veteran, he does play the role of leader on the field. It has to be, especially for the betterment of the younger guys on the roster.

On the floor, Dray has shown great passion and intensity every night. Although things have escalated a few times, the… Warriors know exactly why 23 is so valuable to them. Despite the number of controversies surrounding Dray, he has played his role in court judiciously. Groen’s energy on the defensive end is second to none. Combined with his IQ on offense, Green is one of the best role players on any team.

The upcoming season will feature a very different Warrior team. There is a big chance Thompson will not be part of the team, whose replacement would be the younger assets. Green and Stef will need some time to guide these youngsters as they try to find their way back into title contention. Do you think the Warriors will be a better team next season? Let us know in the comments.
