Division 2A Roundup

Two late goals were the icing on the cake for Pearse Og as they defeated St Paul’s 3-12 to 2-9 in Friday’s Division 2A match. St Paul’s scored twice in the first half but the Ogs stayed in touch and collected the two points on offer.

Odhran Magill sent his side into an early lead after eight minutes with a goal, with St Paul’s taking the lead 1-3 to 0-1. Just before half time they hit another major through Ryan McCaughley, putting them ahead 2-5 to 0-7 at half time.

The Ogs found the net themselves at the start of the second half when Ruairi Duffy raised a green flag. Things were all square heading into stoppage time before Rhys Stevens and Conor Brady scored two goals in as many minutes to give the Ogs a six-point win.

Carrickcruppen jumped to the top of the division when they defeated Annaghmore by 4-19 to 0-10. Jack Cunningham scored two goals for the home side, while Eoin Woods and Tiernan Kelly also scored three-pointers.

Tullysaran needed a final goal to salvage a draw against Shane O’Neill’s as that match finished 1–13. A converted second-half penalty from Shane made it five ahead, but Tullysaran stayed in the match and Mark McKeever claimed a late goal with the final kick.

Keady were 14-point winners on Friday evening when they took on Grange at home. James King and Tomas Galvin both rattled the net for Simon McGeary’s side as they ran out 2-13 and 0-5 winners.
