Ballet Under the Stars, the Connecticut Ballet’s annual free summer tour, begins at 7 p.m. on July 20 at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford and concludes on July 31 (also at 7 p.m.) in downtown Stamford at Mill River Park.

In between, the company makes its annual stop at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Westport (July 30) and returns to Danbury for the first time since the pandemic, performing at 7 p.m. Monday, July 29 at the Richter Arts Center in Richter Park. All shows are free and appropriate for all ages.

The company’s 2024 program includes revivals of three of the most popular ballets in the company’s repertoire: the Romantic-era Pas de Quatre (circa 1845) featuring four of the company’s ballerinas; Joseph Locarro’s Gatsby-era story ballet Indian Summer; and Bix Beiderbecke’s speedy footwork of Goose Pimples to New Orleans jazz. Adding an international flavor, a sizzling new tango doublet set to music by the Paris-based Gotan Project will feature soloists Carla Hernandez and Jose Rojas.

As in previous years, Artistic Director Brett Raphael will provide narration and commentary.

Some performances have set rain dates, others do not. For the complete 2024 Ballet Under the Stars schedule, visit www.connecticutballet.org.
