Live: Traffic on M20 at a standstill near Folkestone as Kent Police respond to ‘incident’

Long delays built up on the M20 in Kent on Tuesday evening (9 July) after traffic was halted due to a “police incident”. The incident was first reported near junction 13 for Folkestone at around 6.40pm.


National Highways confirmed that traffic was backed up in both directions at 7pm. It said this was due to an “incident managed by Kent Police”, with delays of around 30 minutes.



Traffic information service Inrix reported that there were delays in the area as the incident continued. Footage from traffic cameras at the scene showed vehicles standing still.
